Seeing a doctor used to mean rearranging your whole day. With Medics Online, it’s just a phone call at a time convenient to you. Our Ahpra registered Australian medical practitioners, including GPs and doctors with FRACGP qualifications, consult seven days a week, from 6 am to 11 pm AEST.
Since 2023, we’ve cared for thousands of patients across Australia, providing prescriptions, medical certificates and referrals where clinically appropriate, as well as advice for a range of non-emergency health concerns.
Our clinical team includes GPs and medical practitioners, bringing the experience of general practice to the convenience of telehealth. Where your concern requires a physical examination, testing or urgent in-person care, your doctor will advise you on the appropriate next step.

Medics Online is primarily a private-fee service. Limited bulk billing may be available only where the patient and consultation satisfy our eligibility criteria. Eligibility is not guaranteed and will be confirmed during the booking process.
An invoice or payment receipt is provided for services paid through our booking system, and if you hold private health insurance, your insurer can advise on any rebates that may apply to your policy.

What Can’t an Online Doctor Help With?
Under Medics Online’s prescribing policy, we do not prescribe controlled medicines, drugs of dependence, ADHD medicines, sleeping medicines or weight-management medicines through this service. WorkCover certificates are also not issued.
Medics Online also does not currently prepare Medicare Mental Health Treatment Plans or GP Chronic Condition Management Plans through this service. Please consult your usual GP or MyMedicare-registered practice, who can advise whether an in-person or eligible video consultation is appropriate.

Same-day telehealth appointments, even after-hours and on weekends
Symptoms rarely check your calendar before showing up, so our doctors consult seven days a week, well past the hours of a standard clinic.
From Monday to Friday, our consultation hours are 6 am to 11 pm AEST. On weekends, our consultation hours are 8 am to 11 pm AEST.

After you’ve made an appointment online, your doctor calls at your booked time and you chat the way you would in any consult room except that it’s entirely over the phone.
Life doesn't always allow for planning ahead, so instant appointments are often available too, subject to availability through our online booking portal and clinical suitability. You may cancel or reschedule through the booking platform where that option is available. All the consultation itself requires is your Australian phone number, which means the service travels with you, whether you're home in the suburbs or anywhere in Australia.
Following your consultation, any scripts, certificates or referrals your medical practitioner determines are appropriate to issue can be sent directly by text or email, such as:
Prescriptions: sent by SMS as an eScript token, ready to fill at any Australian pharmacy
Medical certificates: emailed to you
Specialist referral letters: emailed to you
Pathology test referrals: sent by text
Radiology referrals: sent by text or email
To receive an eScript, you'll need to share your Medicare number or Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI), and if you don't hold a Medicare card, you can apply for an IHI through Services Australia. Your medical information is treated with strict care for privacy and security at every step.

Yes. Our doctors consult until 11 pm AEST seven days a week, with weekday appointments starting from 6 am. After-hours consultations work exactly the same way as daytime ones, with the doctor calling you at your scheduled time.
Our doctors aim to call you at your scheduled appointment time. Occasionally, delays can occur on busy days or when a consultation needs extra time, and we'll always do our best to reach you as close as possible to your booked time.
