Online Medical Certificates in Australia

Online Medical Certificates

Some days, the best thing you can do for your health is prioritise your wellbeing and give yourself time to heal. With Medics Online, you can get a medical certificate online through a phone consultation with an Australian registered GP. Book a time that suits you, take the doctor’s call from wherever you’re resting, and your certificate arrives by email. Same-day appointments are often available, subject to doctor availability and clinical suitability. Our doctors consult seven days a week, from 6 am to 11 pm AEST on weekdays and 8 am to 11 pm on weekends.

Our clinical team includes GPs and doctors holding Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), and every certificate follows a proper clinical assessment over the phone. The only thing missing is the trip across town.

What our online medical certificates cover

Our GPs can issue medical certificates for work, university, and school absences where it’s clinically appropriate following a phone assessment. Your certificate confirms that a registered medical practitioner has assessed you and considers you unfit for work or study for a stated period. It doesn’t disclose your diagnosis, so what you discuss stays between you and your doctor.

We don’t provide WorkCover certificates, and some conditions can’t be safely assessed over the phone. If the doctor believes you need a physical examination, they’ll point you to the right next step, whether that’s your regular GP or your nearest emergency department.
