Online Prescriptions in Australia

Online prescriptions in Australia

Has your script run out? With Medics Online, you can get a prescription online anywhere in Australia through a phone consultation with a registered medical practitioner. You talk to the doctor from wherever you happen to be, and if a prescription is right for you and falls within our prescribing policy, your eScript is sent straight to your phone, ready to fill at the pharmacy of your choice and often on the very same-day.

Every script is written by an Ahpra-registered medical practitioner after a real conversation about your health, and our clinical team includes GPs and doctors who hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).

4. Receive Your Documents (if clinically appropriate)

Your eScript token works at your pharmacy in Australia. Show the SMS at the counter, or forward it to your preferred pharmacy if they offer home delivery.

Repeat Prescriptions Without Visiting a Doctor in Person

If you take regular medication and your script has run dry, a $40 phone consultation with one of our GPs can have a new eScript on your phone the same day, subject to appointment availability and clinical suitability.

The doctor will still ask a few questions to make sure the medication remains appropriate for you. Not every medication suits an online repeat script, and your doctor will be honest with you if yours is better managed by your regular GP or an in-person consultation.

What You'll Need to Receive an eScript

receive an eScript

To receive an eScript, you’ll just need to book for a consultation along with providing your Medicare number, DVA details or your Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI). If you’re not eligible for Medicare, you can apply for an IHI through Services Australia, which keeps the service open to international visitors and anyone else without a Medicare card who are currently located in Australia.

Medications we don't prescribe online

For safety and regulatory reasons, as a part of our prescribing policy, controlled medications or drugs of dependence, ADHD medicines, sleeping medicines or weight-management medicines aren’t prescribed through our telehealth consultation services.
