Medics Online does not currently prepare Medicare Mental Health Treatment Plans or GP Chronic Condition Management Plans through this service. Please consult your usual GP or MyMedicare-registered practice, who can advise whether an in-person or eligible video consultation is appropriate.

Good general practice relies on continuity of care, and telehealth should be no different. Your consulting doctor can arrange any tests you may need. Once your results are ready, you can book an online appointment with any available GP or your preferred doctor, when available.
All results received by Medics Online are reviewed by a registered doctor. If follow-up is needed, we will contact you. Please book a results appointment as advised, and get in touch if you have not received your expected results within the timeframe discussed with your doctor.
Whatever your appointment produces is sent straight to you, with nothing to collect and nowhere to queue. Prescriptions arrive by SMS as an eScript token ready for any Australian pharmacy, medical certificates and specialist referral letters are emailed, pathology requests come by text and radiology referrals by text or email.
To receive an eScript you’ll need to provide your Medicare number or Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI), and if you don’t hold a Medicare card, you can apply for an IHI through Services Australia.

Yes, an online GP can review chronic conditions where appropriate, with consultations offered on demand. Chronic disease care plans need a face-to-face appointment with your regular GP, and the doctor will tell you when that's the right pathway.
An online GP consultation works best alongside your regular GP. It covers the everyday concerns that can't wait for the next available appointment, and with your consent, a summary of your records can be sent to your usual practice.
If a condition can't be treated over the phone, the doctor will recommend the right next step, whether that's seeing your regular GP in person or attending an emergency department for anything urgent.
Yes, online GP consultations include mental health support for many concerns. Mental Health Care Plans are the exception, because they may require a face-to-face appointment with a GP.
